'Self-discipline is a form of freedom. Freedom from laziness and lethargy, freedom from expectations and demands of others, freedom from weakness and fear, and doubt'.
I have a passion for people. My first memories are of a super chatty, cheerful and energetic little girl. I never lost these qualities, but over the years I have also learned how to combine them with the right amount of empathy, resilience and determination.
I moved from a small Italian town to London when I was 24, and I immediately fell in love with a city that allows you to be, do and have whatever you want. At the very beginning of my professional career the possibilities were endless and the limits were only in my mind. Since I always had an interest for business and entrepreneurship I decided to climb the corporate ladder, moving from one company to another and working in different areas, from customer service to sales, operations, account management and area management. Needless to say it was not easy, especially at the beginning the working hours were very long and the rewards very little. With the years I grew a lot professionally and personally, but I also experienced what it means to struggle with work and life balance, not having enough time for anything outside work and utilising the weekends to rest before starting another stressful week.
In parallel with my professional career, about 10 years ago I started to mature my interest for personal development. Before even noticing I found myself reading lots of books about psychology, motivation, spirituality, self-help, interpersonal relationships, as well as business, leadership and management. What I was learning was never enough and it was feeding my curiosity about people and the importance of continuous training in order to know, understand and improve ourselves and our life.
Then coaching came. It started by chance, when a friend suggested me to go to an introductory event about a coaching diploma, telling me that I would like it, that it would be suited to me. And she was right, I loved it to the point that I enrolled to the course the next day, and since then I never stopped thinking about it, talking about it and working on it. I love coaching because it combines my passion for people and personal development, and it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life and allow people who want to change to dramatically transform their existence.
Thanks to my background and experience I have chosen to coach mainly Managers and Business Owners and help them with their work-life balance, performance and self-discipline, helping them in whatever they would like to pursue from a career point of view to a more personal one. I feel I relate to them and know them enough to be able to know their daily struggles and dreams.
Some random facts about me: I don’t have a TV, I’m obsessed with cleaning, organising and drinking water, I’m scared of heights, enclosed spaces and dentists, I had laser eye surgery, I watch Dragons’ Den every day (on my phone) because I think it’s brilliant, I never skied in my life, throughout my life I practised various sports including swimming, volleyball, athletics, and now I’m a runner currently training for a marathon, I never broke a bone, when I was 2 I swallowed a 40 mm stainless steel lost head nail, I don’t like lamb, I like lists.
Coaching is not for everyone. In order to discover a world of endless possibilities and radically transform your life, you must have:
A willingness to change, improve your current situation, transform your life for the better and most importantly, to take action
The awareness that during coaching the way you currently see things will be challenged through powerful questions, and you will think about things that you never considered before
The belief that coaching doesn’t provide a quick-fix to anything
The willingness to take full responsibility for your decisions, your actions and your results
The understanding that I don’t give any advice, I don’t tell you what to do or suggest you anything. You are the expert of your own life, I am not
The willingness to be 100% open, honest and transparent with me in the same way I will be with you. I primarily work with:
People who are committed to creating professional success without compromising their quality of life
Successful managers, leaders and entrepreneurs who want to take their success to the next level
People who are running on adrenaline, caffeine or sugar and want to improve their health and lifestyle, or create a brand new one
People who feel that they are always too busy and have so much to do, that they are missing what is truly important in their life
People who struggle to break old bad habits and would like to build new good ones
If you feel you are one of these people, please get in touch or book a free 30 minutes introductory call with me via Zoom or Skype. During this conversation we will get to know each other, discuss your goals and decide if we are both happy to work together.
And, last but not least:
I believe in self-discipline as a form of freedom, because when we focus all our energy on what we really want to achieve, we automatically shift our attention from what makes us unhappy to what makes us happy
I believe in patience as a form of strength because great things take time – and as Aristotle says: “Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet”
I believe in the “inside-out” approach as a way to reach personal and interpersonal effectiveness, because every change first starts within ourselves.
